My name is Zara Beasley.

I am 4 years old. I was born on May 1st 2008 in The National Maternity Hospital and weighed 5lb 11oz.

I have three big brothers, Wayne, Alan and Andrew. I also have two big sisters, Francesca and Alex.

When my Mammy and Daddy went for a scan at 30 weeks the lovely midwife told them that there was complications with my brain. My Mammy and Daddy had to wait until I was born to find out what was wrong. When I was born the doctors carried out loads of scans and tests on me and came to the conclusion that I had a bleed on my brain in my Mammy's tummy. This bleed damaged the white matter in my brain. It has caused my brain not to grow and also can not send messages to other parts of my body. I have severe developmental delays both physical and intellectual. I have very little sight and also have epilepsy.

My family are fund-raising for me to get Stem Cell treatment in another country. They hope this will give me a better chance at life and maybe it could help me walk or talk or see.
